Frontier
About
Frontier is a platform that crowd-sources fun through user-created Journeys ,which are collections of places or activities to do. The platform can help discover new and trending things to do in your city, plan a date night, or find the best experiences while traveling.
I first created this project for my Interaction Design class. During development, we performed User Stories and Scenarios, made Low-Fidelity and High-Fidelity prototypes, applied UI and UX principles, and performed User Tests with feedback.
Afterwards, I developed a prototype in NextJS with base level features as a proof of concept.

User Experience Design
This is an interactive demo of the app design in Figma. You can scroll and tap on buttons like you would on a mobile app. Creating an interactive product helps to analyze user interactions and assess successes and failures.
UX Research
After the prototype was developed, we performed three user studies. During each study, the participants were asked to perform several tasks such as "Create a New Journey" or "Find a Journey to do" and we observed their actions, noting points of difficulty or confusion. This process helped us improve on the user experience. Once we finished performing these tests, the high-fidelity prototype was created using Figma, which you can demo above.
Development
In 2020, I created a proof-of-concept app with React, Redux, and Material UI Frontend, and NodeJS, Express, and Firebase backend. The app has the following features:
